October is a season of transition - the perfect time to gather what we've learned, ground ourselves in nourishing routines, and create harmony before the holiday rush. This three-part October Reset series invites you to pause and realign with the rhythms of the season.
Why October Feels Like a Harvest
October is the season of gathering. Just as the fields offer their last crops and the trees let go of what’s complete, we too are invited to reflect on what has grown in our lives this year. Harvest is about both gathering and releasing — keeping what nourishes us and letting go of what we no longer need.
What I’m Harvesting
This year has given me lessons I want to carry forward.
I have been reminded me that small, consistent practices - like morning journaling and taking walks outside - create more lasting change than big, dramatic resets. I want to carry forward the reminder that slow and steady truly nurtures me. I've also learned that rest is not laziness. Taking time to pause, breathe, or simply do nothing actually makes me more grounded and present in my work and relationships. That's a lesson I want to hold close as the year closes. Finally, instead of filling my calendar with every request, I've started practicing saying no gently but firmly. This has opened up space for deeper conversations, more meaningful work, and the quiet moments I used to rush past. I want to carry that courage into the months ahead.
These are my “seeds,” the pieces of wisdom that will guide me through the rest of the year.
What I’m Letting Go Of
At the same time, harvest means releasing. Like the trees dropping their leaves, I’m choosing to release the pressure to have everything figured out or perfectly planned. I'm also releasing the belief that everything I do has to be perfect and flawless. I am choosing to have grace for myself even when I don't always get it right. This isn’t failure - it’s making space for who I ultimately want to be to emerge.
A Reflection for You
Ask yourself: What lessons am I harvesting from this year so far? What am I ready to release?
Harvesting is the first step of our October Reset. Tomorrow, we’ll shift from gathering to rooting - creating the grounding routines that steady us for the season ahead.
